Treatment of warts
In gynecology, we consider warts in regions of the genitals or around the vaginal or anal entrance as well as the groin area. They can vary in size from small to large and can be flat or raised. They can occur in clusters and also appear in groups. The warts do not necessarily have to be clearly visible on the surface (subclinical warts). Genital warts are usually caused by HP viruses and are very contagious. That's why you want to get rid of them. We explain the various ways to do this. You can read about HPV and possible vaccination in my other section.
In our gynaecological practice, we offer electrocautery to remove warts. This involves removing the infected wart tissue with a hot snare. Beforehand, the affected areas of skin are anaesthetized locally with a cream.
