Vitamin B complex (vitamins B1, B2, B3 and B6)
Only vitamin B12 and vitamin B3 can be stored in the body. Vitamins B1, B2, B5, B6, biotin and folic acid cannot be stored in the body. The biologically active forms of the B vitamins are essential for carbohydrate, fat and protein metabolism, as well as for the body's energy production. A deficiency can affect the skin, the mucous membrane, the nervous system, the cardiovascular system and the gastrointestinal system.

Vitamin C
Vitamin C is considered a true all-rounder and therefore occupies a special position among micronutrients. Its functions and tasks range from building collagen and strengthening our immune system to protecting lipids, proteins and other cell structures from oxidative damage.
Its function as a free radical scavenger and water-soluble antioxidant is particularly well known. If there is an excess of free radicals in the body, there is an increased attack on organs, cell organelles and DNA. Vitamin C has the ability to intercept and neutralize these radicals.
Immune cells can also be affected by such a radical or oxidative attack. By using vitamin C sensibly, immune cells can be protected and natural cell function can be maintained.
Unlike most mammals, the human body cannot produce vitamin C itself. An adequate supply from our diet is therefore essential.
The most important sources of vitamin C include fresh fruit such as berries and citrus fruits. Vegetables such as cabbage, peppers and potatoes are also rich in vitamin C.
The German Nutrition Society recommends a daily intake of 100mg vitamin C for adolescents and adults. The need for vitamin C increases in stressful situations, during pregnancy or breastfeeding or in the case of certain illnesses.
High demands and pressure to perform at work, poor nutrition and heavy exposure to harmful substances are good reasons to take a sensibly dosed vitamin C supplement. As the vitamin can only be absorbed by the intestine in small quantities, an infusion would be recommended in the event of an increased requirement and deficiency.
