Tokogram and CTG
In addition to ultrasound examinations, cardiotocography (also known as CTG ) is astandard examination for monitoring during pregnancy, which we offer in our gynecological practice together with our midwives.
The CTG checks the fetal heart rate in relation to periods of activity and rest of the fetus as well as the activity of the uterus to rule out premature labor. The CTG is routinely carried out from the 28th week of pregnancy. However, the examination is mainly used in the last weeks of pregnancy and during the birth.
Labor activity is displayed using the graphic tocogram, which is similar to an electrodiagram and records the duration, frequency and strength of the contractions to monitor the course of the birth.
